"The Round House"  offers a true adventure to the truly adventurous angler... 10 kilometers south of Casa Blanca, 2,000 meters from Laguna Santa Rosa, 5 kilometers from Espiritu Santo Bay, your only neighbor is an 1,100 year old Mayan ruin.  "The Round House" offers convenient access to remote areas that were, until now, virtually inaccessible... unfished bays and lagoons, ocean flats and protected mangrove lakes... bonefish, permit, tarpon, snook, barracuda and a smorgasbord of reef species and extraordinary combination of unique tropical habitats in such proximity.

Your own "private" fishery - In a single week you can wade for bonefish and permit on a Caribbean flats, cast to them from a skiff in a protected lagoon, chase barracuda in Espiritu Santo Bay, sight cast to land locked tarpon and snook in mangrove - lined lakes or troll the Palancar Reef for wahoo, dolphin, grouper, spanish mackerel and a variety of other tackle wrenching seasonal species.  It must be noted that reef fishing is extremely weather sensitive.

Your primary quarry will be bonefish and permit, but on alternate days you can choose to fish for landlocked tarpon and snook in the numerous mangrove lagoons and brackish estuaries feeding the northern end of Espiritu Santo Bay.

The areas are especially well suited for the winter months since they are relatively well protected from a north wind.

NOTE - Significant angling experience is highly recommended for the area's tarpon and snook fishery.  The tarpon and snook encountered within the Santa Rosa Lagoon system and the brackish estuaries feeding into the northern end of Espiritu Santo Bay offer a unique angling challenge.  Long, accurate casting is essential because both species prefer to remain partially hidden for unsuspecting prey.  Neither tarpon nor snook will venture far from their hiding places and misplaced casts will be mercilessly consumed by the mangroves.  Extremely shallow, gin clear water makes the fish especially wary and adds to the angling challenge.  You should also be fairly fit since some walking is required to access the more remote lagoons and flats.

COMFORT - You'd think that such an isolated angler's paradise would have to sacrifice style and comfort, yet this could not be further from the truth.  Weekly, parties of four will be pampered, from the dining room to the  casting platform of their flats skiff by your own private in-house staff, host, chef and fishing guides who will happily cater to your every need.

Like Casa Blanca, Casa Redonda offers extremely comfortable accommodations, yet is a completely self sufficient facility with a technologically advanced solar powered system providing such amenities as 24-hour lighting, ceiling fans, refrigeration, and purified water.  After an exciting day's fishing, guests return to the Redonda's roomy, tastefully decorated facility to relax; enjoy refreshing tropical drinks while swapping embellished angling tales, swim, snorkel or cast a line to the numerous surf species which roam the shores directly in front of the lodge.

GREAT FOOD - You can expect to eat well at the Round House.  The "house" specialities include an eclectic array of culinary delights including local Mayan specialties, traditional Mexican dishes, fresh tropical fruits and vegetables, and, of course mouth-watering seafood platters - simply and skillfully prepared by the chef.

Completely private and totally isolated - if this sounds like a dream come true, contact Frontiers for complete booking information.
